Key Performance Indicators

greenpass Pre-Certification enables the evaluation and pre-certification of climate-fit real estate and open spaces towards impact, resilience and cost. Your project can collect up to 360 points with 50+ Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) within 6 urban challenges and 4 bonus challenges.


Depending on the quality, evaluation points are awarded for each indicator, which together add up to a degree of fulfillment and subsequently a pre-certificate level from Certified (>=35%), Silver (>50%), Gold (>75%) to Platinum (>90% )

Fair and transparent evaluation

The globally applicable greenpass (Pre-)Certification system is based on standardized, location-based reference scenarios (worst to best case) with various greening grades. This allows a fair, transparent and location-specific assessment and evaluation of the site considering influencing environmental factors as well as to set quality assurance with quantitative tresholds and qualities

The worst case scenario is 100% sealed according to a standardized recipe and without any green. The scenario forms the lower evaluation framework (0%) for the site for all indicators during (pre-)certification

Moderate Case (MOC)

The moderate case scenario is approximately 50% greened (open space + building) according to a standardized greening recipe. The scenario forms the upper evaluation framework (100%) for the site for the cost indicators during (pre-)certification

Best Case

Best Case (BEC)

The best case scenario is approximately 75% greened (open space and building) according to a standardized greening recipe. The scenario forms the upper evaluation framework (100%) for the site for all indicators during (pre-)certification - with exception of cost indicators,
